Hi world,

I have an old QUANTUM SCSI HD which has a problem with it's
electronic. The mechanics is just fine. It only doesn't care whatever
SCSI ID I want it to have, it just starts up every time. I had no
problems with it and didn't even know about it until I got a second
HD. This second HD isn't mounted at all, my old HD just starts up
quicker if both are connected. If I remove the old HD the new starts
up. The new one on its own behaves normal, so it's not the controller.

The old HD is a QUANTUM LP 105 S. I called QUANTUM and they agreed
with me that it is an electronic problem of the HD. They asked me to
send it in and told me repair would be around 300 Pounds (ROFL, even
my new 1 GB HD was cheaper). I'd like to use the old HD at least for
backup.

IS THERE ANYBODY OUTSIDE (peferably Europe) WHO WANTS TO GET RID OF A
QUANTUM PRODRIVE LPS WITH HEADCRASH (Electronics ok). I would pay
shipping and 20 DM extra.
